Contact Emi and Matt

The one inbox Emi and Matt uses, what to put in a message so it gets answered fast, and the requests we have to turn down.

Emi and Matt is written and run by a small group, and this is the page that tells you how to reach them. Whether you have spotted an error in something we published about Cooking, home life and weekend trips for two, have a question an article did not answer, or want to talk business, it all starts at one address.

The inbox

[email protected]

Write there and a human opens it. We never built a helpdesk system and have no plans to, because the volume does not need one.

What we cannot do

There is a line between publishing about Cooking, home life and weekend trips for two and advising you personally, and we stay on the publishing side of it. That rules out account problems, disputes with third parties, and anything that depends on facts only you can see. See the legal notice.

Response times

Answers come by email, generally within two working days, and only by email. The missing phone line is a choice, not a gap we forgot to fill.

Proposals and press

Same inbox, and the word partnership in the subject helps it get found. Read what the editorial policy says about paid links before writing, because the answer is usually already there.

If we got it wrong

Accuracy complaints jump the queue. Give us the sentence and the correction and skip the apology for complaining. The editorial policy explains what we do from there.

How to write a useful message

Detail up front is the whole difference between a quick answer and a fortnight of clarifying questions.

  1. Request first, story second. We act on the request and read the story for context.
  2. The URL, not a summary of it. Pasting the link is faster for both of us than describing the page.
  3. Symptom and expectation. What the page did and what you thought it would do, side by side.
